The Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors, opened in 2019 in San Francisco. Although I had attended multiple Warriors games at Oracle Arena in Oakland, I had never made my way to the Chase Center until last weekend. It is an expensive venue, and some believe that is has priced out hardcore Warrior’s fans. That may be true, but there were definitely some around me at Sunday night’s game versus the Indiana Pacers. I was fortunate to receive tickets through work, and was situated not too far behind the Warrior’s bench.
Some thoughts on the stadium. Firstly, it is extremely nice and clean. Lines are short compared to other stadiums. It also has plenty of convenient public transportation options. I was able to take the Muni light rail from Stockton and Washington (Chinatown) to the stadium in less than twenty minutes. It also is not too far from Caltrain and there are plenty of bus options. Outside the stadium is a whole village area with bars and restaraunts. Overall it was a pleasant area to visit.
The money can be a problem. Beers were over $20 each, although they are rarely under $15 at any Bay Area stadium. However, even a price sensitive fan can enjoy. Weeknight games can be as low as $16. The Valkyries (SF’s new WNBA team), also play at the stadium and have more affordable ticket prices. Food and drink can be enjoyed outside the stadium. Overall I do recommend visiting the stadium and hope to be back soon.
